Supporting our community: Why are 3D Recruit sponsoring the Hastings Half Marathon?
The 2025 edition of the Hastings Half Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, was to be the first big event that 3D Recruit sponsored. We opened our first office in Hastings town centre in 2000, moving from the busy recruitment hub of central London, where we recruited social workers throughout the U.K.

Over the past 25 years, our team has grown, and our recruitment areas have widened to include education and healthcare recruitment. Even during these times of change, our focus on investing in people has never wavered. This core value led us to support the Hastings Half Marathon, which sits at the heart of the community.
Hastings Half Marathon - a celebration of community, health and unity
The Hastings Half Marathon has become a signature event in the local calendar, known for its hills and supportive atmosphere. With around 3,000 participants each year, it's more than just a race; it's a celebration of community, health, and unity. The event began in 1985 and has taken place each year in March (except 2020-2021 due to COVID-19).
Runners range from seasoned athletes to enthusiastic newcomers, all coming together to conquer the challenging 13.1-mile course. Each step contributes to personal fitness goals and raises funds and awareness for local charitable causes.
Reasons for the Cancellation of the 2025 Edition of the Hastings Half Marathon - a huge disappointment.
A section of St Leonards promenade - part of the half marathon route - was cordoned off by Sussex Police on the evening of Thursday, March 20th, and a major investigation launched after the discovery of dangerous chemicals in a property. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all agencies and the race organisers, the devastating news arrived Saturday evening that the race would not be able to take place.
Unity during adversity: The local community came together in a display of unwavering human spirit.
For many, months of training had gone into preparations for this event. Many people were to run the half marathon to raise money for charities. The crowds, PA systems and throngs of runners may have been absent on that drizzly Sunday morning, and yet many runners laced up their trainers and ran their own 13.1 miles. Many of these runners wore their race bibs and charity costumes, determined not to waste their months of training and fundraising.
Event volunteers arrived on site and helped take down the marquee and barriers. Teamwork and resilience shone through on that grey and murky morning.
A new date set: How to get involved in the Hastings Half Marathon 2025!

Thanks to the hard work and creative thinking of Nice Work and The Hastings Lions Club who organise the Hastings Half Marathon, a new date has been set for Sunday, October 5th 2025. This will be the first time in the event's history that the race moves from March.
An ideal time of year for a half marathon, the 3D Recruit & Education Futures Trust (EFT) Run Team will pick up training once more through the summer months and look forward to crossing that start line at 10 am.
A heart felt thankyou to everyone who made the rescheduling of the race happen.
If you feel inspired to join us, we would love to have you on the team! You can read our blog about the 3D Recruit & EFT Run Team. Sign up today and be a part of something incredible!
